Learning to Make Peace

Scripture: Matthew 18:15–20

Have you ever disagreed with a friend about a game or felt hurt by something someone said? Getting along isn’t always easy. Jesus teaches us to talk honestly, listen carefully, and seek help when we need it. Making peace begins with remembering that God loves both of us.

When you feel upset, pause and take a slow breath. You can say, “I felt hurt when that happened,” and give the other person a chance to speak. If someone is hurting or frightening you, tell a trusted adult. You don’t have to handle it alone.

Try it together

Draw a picture of a place where you feel safe and welcomed. Tell someone what makes that place special. Then choose one way to help someone else feel welcome this week.

Talk about it

  • What helps you listen when you feel upset?
  • Who can help you work through a disagreement?

Let’s pray

Jesus, thank you for loving us. Help us listen, speak kindly, and ask for help. Teach us to make peace together. Amen.
